4th September 2015
I hope you had a good summer. For many the holiday was even more enjoyable given Ofsted's confirmation of what pupils, parents and staff knew, namely that we are a "Good school".
May I thank you for sending your children back to school looking so wonderfully smart. They are a real credit to you. In just two days Year 7 have settled in really well with relatively few getting lost.
Over the summer work started on the project to re-roof the gym and swimming pool area with the financial support of the Local Authority. Due to further complications the work is behind schedule. Consequently the PE Department have had to adapt their timetable. As the pool and gym cannot be used, pupils will need to be prepared to participate fully in outdoor lessons, irrespective of the weather. Jogging bottoms and jumpers will be allowed to be worn. Hopefully the new roof and the new additional work will be completed before October half-term.
In order to maintain our very high standards it is essential that pupils abide by our Code of Conduct, copies of which were sent via post at the start of the summer holiday. If you would like another copy please contact Reception.
May I thank those parents who have ensured that their daughter's trousers meet school expectations i.e. "Trousers must be black (tight, jean style, ski pants, low waisted trousers or leggings are not permitted)".
Our Open Evening is on Tuesday 15th September. As with previous years, in order to give staff and pupils time to prepare, school will close at 2.00pm on this day. A number of pupils will be invited to help out during the evening.
These continue to be exciting times in the development of our school. We can improve even further with your continued support.
