Learning Support

The Learning Support Department provides help for children experiencing difficulty with their learning. Our priorities are to ensure the individual needs of our pupils are met through a wide range of strategies. These include a Year 7 Key Skills group, specialist literacy and numeracy recovery programmes, individual withdrawal for pupils with specific difficulties and lots of in-class support provided by a team of high quality Learning Support Assistants.

The school takes advantage of extra support offered by the LA such as specialist teachers, educational psychologists, occupational therapists and the ethnic minority service.

For information on the local Special Educational Needs Support (SENS) offer, you can visit Dudley Council's website.

As a school, we have developed an accessibility plan as well as our SEN Information Report.

If you have any questions regarding the SEN provision at The Wordsley School, please contact Mrs C Lawrie (Lead Practitioner) on (01384) 816015 or email us.
