Careers Education

Further Education Evening

Thursday 30th September 6pm-7.30pm

An opportunity to meet local colleges and education providers and find out more about courses and entry requirements. Our Careers Co-ordinator, Miss Shaw, will be on hand to speak with parents/carers about the support the school can offer. This is a great opportunity for students and their families to speak with many representatives to gain a more well-rounded insight into Post-16 choices.

Careers Education

From the beginning of Year 7, one of our priorities is to provide pupils with excellent information, advice and guidance regarding their future career and life.

All pupils have opportunities to partake in work experience during year 10 and we offer other work-related learning opportunities through the varied curriculum pupils are provided with.

During Year 11, students are provided with a wealth of information and opportunities to aid them with their Post-16 decisions. Students will be encouraged to sign up to careers interviews, receive visits from Connexions and be supplied with news on college events throughout the year.

Louisa Harris, The Wordsley School’s Connexions Personal Adviser, can be contacted via the office number or is usually in school to see students on Tuesdays.

Provider Access Agreement Policy

This policy statement sets out the school’s arrangements for managing the access of providers to pupils at the school for the purpose of giving them information about the provider’s education or training offer. This complies with the school’s legal obligations under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997.
