Year 8 Physical Education

  • Show a good level of skill within isolated practices and game situations, performing with confidence, control and fluency, showing a good level of knowledge and understanding of the rules and regulations of the activity.
  • Show a good level of fitness within the activity and be able to motivate themselves and others in game situations.
  • Communicate with confidence to offer ideas, tactics and suggestions and explain decisions made.
  • Begins to lead with increased confidence.
  • Evaluate strengths and weaknesses within their own and others performances, identifying practises to help improve skill level and game play.
  • Lead a small group for a warm up with confidence and can organise a number of basic drill practices.
  • Can identify some of the main muscles of the body (Bicep, Triceps, Hamstring, Quadriceps and Gastrocnemius.)
  • Can explain the immediate effects of exercise upon the Cardiovascular and Respiratory Systems, with some detail and monitor, record and understand their heart rate during a session.
