Form Time

Form time at Wordsley runs daily from 8:35-9:05. It is focused on pastoral care and personal development. Led by a form tutor, it’s a time for administrative tasks, fostering a sense of community, and addressing students’ wellbeing and social skills. This dedicated time ensures students receive consistent support beyond their academic lessons, helping them thrive in our school environment.

Activities

  • Pastoral Support: Form tutors offer consistent emotional and social support, monitor student wellbeing, and serve as the main contact for parents.

Administrative Tasks: This includes taking attendance, sharing daily notices, and ensuring students are ready for lessons.

Personal and Social Development: Activities focus on life skills, current events, school values, fostering community, and addressing topics like health, online safety, and careers.

Academic Monitoring: Tutors track student academic progress and encourage good study habits.

Building Relationships: It’s a chance for students to build strong connections with peers and their form tutor, creating a safe environment.

Assemblies: Form time often links with school assemblies for celebrations, discussions, or addressing key issues.
