Form Time
Form time at Wordsley runs daily from 8:35-9:05. It is focused on pastoral care and personal development. Led by a form tutor, it’s a time for administrative tasks, fostering a sense of community, and addressing students’ wellbeing and social skills. This dedicated time ensures students receive consistent support beyond their academic lessons, helping them thrive in our school environment.
Activities
Pastoral Support: Form tutors offer consistent emotional and social support, monitor student wellbeing, and serve as the main contact for parents.
Administrative Tasks: This includes taking attendance, sharing daily notices, and ensuring students are ready for lessons.
Personal and Social Development: Activities focus on life skills, current events, school values, fostering community, and addressing topics like health, online safety, and careers.
Academic Monitoring: Tutors track student academic progress and encourage good study habits.
Building Relationships: It’s a chance for students to build strong connections with peers and their form tutor, creating a safe environment.
Assemblies: Form time often links with school assemblies for celebrations, discussions, or addressing key issues.
Character Curriculum
At Wordsley School, our character curriculum is designed to help your child become a better person who contributes to a better community. We focus on developing our core values of respect, kindness, resilience curiosity and integrity. By teaching these essential life skills, we aim to prepare students to be successful not only academically but also as engaged and compassionate members of society.
