Our House System
The pastoral system that is in place at Wordsley is at the very heart of our school. We have four houses: Doulton, Stuart, Tudor and Webb, obviously named to reflect the rich history of our local area and draw a connection to the community that we serve. Each house is overseen by a Head of House; a member of teaching staff who is incredibly skilled at nurturing and supporting our pupils and families.
Pupils will start each day in their house tutor groups; this group will be led by their form tutor who will provide a consistent start to the day and will normally be the first point of contact for parents. Pupils in the tutor group will all be in the same year group and house to allow us to provide age appropriate support and to drive our competitive house system. Achievement points, positive attendance and pastoral support will be discussed weekly to provide pupils with an overview of their progress through school. Clear communication and positive relationships underpin our support and we look forward to working in partnership with pupils and parents throughout their time at The Wordsley School.
We foster healthy rivalry between our houses and offer lots of opportunities for pupils to earn house points. A wide variety of Inter-House competitions, appealing to lots of different strengths and interests of our pupils, take place regularly each term.

Boys Champion
Mr M Reid
My name is Mr Reid, I am the Boys Champion and Assistant CAL of Art and Design Technology. I have worked at The Wordsley School since 2013 where I have taught DT and PE and had roles such as Assistant CAL of Art and Design Technology, Progress Lead and Assistant Head of House. I grew up in inner city Birmingham where I saw first-hand the challenges young adults especially boys face growing up and I trained and worked in these areas in my first years of teaching after completing a Master’s Degree in Automotive Design and Engineering. Outside of work I have two young boys of my own and a keen interest in Cars, Brazilian Jujitsu and Boxing. I enjoy being active, love a challenge and some healthy competition. As Boys Champion I would encourage each student involved in the programme to actively believe and engage in the school values, so that they not only see their own potential but also find their place in the modern world outside of the school environment. Supporting the boys of the Wordsley School to dream big, set goals and aspire to be the best versions of themselves.
