We are absolutely delighted to be able to welcome your child and your family into the Wordsley School community.
Over the next term, the pastoral team and I will begin making all of the arrangements necessary for a seamless transition for your child to join us in September.
We will shortly be visiting all primary schools to get to know every pupil and to talk to them about life at Wordsley. During these visits, pupils will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have.
Year 6 Induction Day – Wednesday 3rd July 2024 (8:40am – 3:00pm).
We are delighted to be able to host a traditional Induction Day at The Wordsley School this year. On Induction Day, your child will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the school, engage in some lessons led by our wonderful team of staff and meet other pupils joining us in September. We hope that in doing this, your child will feel supported in joining our school community and will feel excited to start as a fully-fledged Wordsley pupil in September.
On Induction Day, your child will receive a welcome goody bag filled with lots of amazing gifts. Your child will need to wear their primary school uniform as normal. They should bring writing equipment, a bottle of water and, if they wish, a snack for morning break. At lunchtime, a hot school meal (including a vegetarian option) will be provided free of charge. If your child has any specific dietary requirements, we would advise them to bring a packed lunch. In order to give our catering staff an idea of numbers, could you please complete the form below by Friday 7th June.
Year 6 Parents’ and Carers’ Coffee Morning – Wednesday 3rd July (8.45am-9.15am).
We would also like to invite parents and carers to a coffee morning after dropping off your child on Induction day. (This is optional – we appreciate many parents have work commitments.) During this time, you will have the opportunity to meet key staff, ask any questions, as well as receiving help filling in key forms. We will also have information on school uniform, Parent Pay and Class Charts to help assist you in preparation for when your child starts secondary school.
Year 6 Induction Evening for Parents – Wednesday 3rd July.
This event is essential for parents/carers of all pupils joining us in September 2024. During this evening you will be able to meet your child’s form tutor and will have the opportunity to ask any questions. It would be great if your child could attend as well. Further information regarding timings will follow early next term.
Summer School – Tuesday 23rd July and Wednesday 24th July (9.30am-1.30pm).
This year we will also be offering a summer school, where your child can get to know the school, staff and the location of each subject. We will be running different activities throughout the day and exploring a range of subjects. This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to make new friends. Further information will follow in the summer term.
