Health and Social Care
At The Wordsley School, we study Health and Social Care to prepare students for life in a diverse and ever-changing society, helping them understand how to support the wellbeing, dignity, and development of others. This course provides pupils with the knowledge, understanding and skills to pursue a career in one of the UK’s largest and most meaningful sectors, while also exploring the ethical, legal, and theoretical ideas that shape high-quality care.
Through this learning, students develop essential empathy, communication, and problem-solving skills that are highly transferable to any workplace or further education pathway. This reflects our core values: respect for individuals and their diverse needs, curiosity about how health and care systems operate, integrity in acting responsibly and ethically, resilience when tackling complex real-world issues, and kindness as the foundation for meaningful support. Through understanding these values and the care sector, students learn how to encourage independence, protect people’s rights, and develop into responsible, compassionate members of society.
