GCSE Business Studies (AQA) - Current Year 11 (2017-18)

Controlled Assessment (25%)

Investigating a small business: The controlled assessment topic is set by the exam board and changes each year. The themes over previous years have included promotion, customer service and location. Pupils have to carry out an investigation into what their business currently does and how this could be improved.

Examination (75%)

The scheme of work for KS4 includes the following topics:

GCSE Business (Edexcel)

The newly revised GCSE in Business qualification commences from September 2017. All pupils opting to study GCSE Business will follow the Edexcel specification.

Year 10 – Theme 1: Investigating small business

Year 11 – Theme 2: Building a business

Examination 100%

  • 2 written examinations of 1 hour 30 minutes duration.
  • Both are worth 50% of the qualification.
